If you register domains often, it’s easy to miss something. Especially if you never had problems, you simply don’t expect them to happen.
Normally I should get confirmation email ‘within 24h‘, but in this case, I didn’t get anything.
Few months ago, after all that brainstorming, checking hundreds of combinations for available .com, I’ve got myself some great domain name (through 1and1) for my upcoming project. It was all cool until I wanted to use it. I realised … it’s not fucking mine!! Someone else bought it just a month ago! … I mean what the fuck!?!
Yup, with 1and1 this shit is possible.
For some reason, their bug / error / you name it, they didn’t send me confirmation email, neither they registered my domain! It didn’t happen once, it’s been like that for a good few months now.
Need to mention, they got quite bad customer support, one of these Indian call centres … I suppose some of you know very well what does it mean especially if you were a BT customer once.
So here I am, someone else took my domain and 1and1 just takes a piss. It doesn’t help to be polite, they just don’t give a shit about their customers problems. Also don’t expect any explanation from them, they simply won’t tell you anything but ‘good bye and fuck off dear customer’.
Now I got to spend great deal of time and move all domains to another registrar.
